Before Sloan, Meryam was working as a quantitative analyst on the Fed’s asset purchase program at the FRBNY. Prior to that, she was a community organizer in Queens, NYC. Meryam can’t help but be excited by the opportunities AI is creating to move our world forward and hopes to launch her own AI-based company one day. After graduation, she will be working on Product at Quantcast.
If not working on the conference, Meryam is probably reading the latest technology-related news while drinking coffee and making future travel plans.
Brian Bozzello - Managing Director
Brian is a second-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, he was a consultant at Alliance Consulting Group, developing growth strategies for clients in the retail, manufacturing and motor vehicle industries. Upon graduation, he will work as a Product Manager for Sumo Logic, the leading cloud-based machine data analytics platform for real-time IT insights.
Brian is excited about the immediate impact of machine learning on today’s workplace, but he can also be found debating the long-term implications of AI on society. With his free time, you’ll find him running around the Charles, listening to vintage records or secretly watching the Yankees in Boston.
Baris Sevinc - VP of Emerging Tech
Baris is a first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, Baris worked as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting, leading several tech strategy and tech implementation projects. Baris is always excited about learning how innovations in technology constantly transform businesses and is looking forward to seeing the next big game-changing technology and its impact to our lives. In his spare time, Baris enjoys playing tennis and soccer, traveling, and performing community service.
Lucy Minott - VP Showcase of Future Tech
Lucy is a first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, she was a Product Manager at HourlyNerd, an online marketplace startup connecting businesses with freelance business consultants. Before joining HourlyNerd, Lucy worked for three years at Endeavor, a global entrepreneurship organization connecting high-growth start-ups with strategic expertise and resources. This summer, Lucy will intern on the Product Management team at Eventbrite.
Lucy is passionate about leveraging technology to improve society and is excited about the future of AI. Lucy graduated from Princeton University in 2010, where she earned an A.B. in History. In her free time, Lucy enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains of New England and working with Boston area entrepreneurs to scale their companies.
Carolina Aguilar - VP of Content
Carolina is first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Before Sloan, she spent seven years at the Council on Foreign Relations, launching and managing conferences and other projects for Foreign Affairs magazine. Since spring of 2015, she has been working for Bounce Imaging, a Harvard/MIT start-up providing throwable camera and sensor technology for first responders. She is interested in how technology shapes society and increases access and opportunity in emerging and developing markets.
Jose Alvarado - VP of Marketing
Jose is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to the MBA, Jose worked as an Assistant Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble Venezuela managing international brands such as Pampers, Oral-B and Ariel. He also worked as a VP of Sales & Operations of a Local CPG Company.
Jose is interested in learning and expanding his influence in other industries such as Technology.
Katherine Curiel - VP of Fundraising
Katherine is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan and a master in urban planning candidate at Harvard University. Prior to returning to school she worked as an investment analyst funding public finance projects across U.S. cities and states. Upon graduation, Katherine is interested in pursuing a career in venture capital as a way to learn about and fund companies committed to improving the world.
In addition to serving in the Tech Conference team, Katherine is planning the Clean Energy Prize and working with an international start-up through the Sloan Entrepreneurs for International Development. Outside of school and work, she loves running, traveling, visiting museums, and wine tasting.
Michelle Shih - VP of Marketing
Michelle is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, she worked as a Marketing Event Manager at American Express leading marketing campaigns and consumer events for Centurion products. Upon graduation, Michelle is interested in pursuing a career in consulting as a way to expose to various industries and grow with clients.
Outside of school and work, she loves design thinking, traveling, education especially mentoring children in remote/rural areas.
Nina Berger - VP of Fundraising
Nina is a first-year MBA student at MIT Sloan. Prior to MIT, she spent three years working for Ceres, a non-profit organization mobilizing investor and business leadership to build a thriving, sustainable global economy.
Nina is excited about technologies’ capacity to disrupt – at the scale and the pace demanded by today’s greatest environmental and social challenges.
Shaleen Jain - VP of Content
Shaleen is a first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, Shaleen helped implement one of the country’s most successful Obamacare Health Exchanges as a Systems Integration consultant at Deloitte Consulting.
Shaleen enjoys building technology solutions that create a tangible impact on people’s lives, and is interested in technology’s ability to revolutionize human capabilities. Shaleen enjoys reading TechCrunch, playing basketball, traveling, and performing community service.
Snehil Taparia - VP of Content
Snehil is a first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior tob-school, Snehil has been an entrepreneur in the cleantech space, and most recently worked with Johnson Controls as a Global Product Manager for multiple smart energy solutions.
Snehil is deeply interested in Technology’s ability to influence and change the realms of the possible, and is a keen follower of the emerging convergence of internet of things, big data and artificial intelligence. In his free time, Snehil likes to read up on the latest technology innovations, play Cricket and practice Graphology.
Nargis Sakhibova - VP of Marketing
Nargis is a native of Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Prior to starting at MIT Sloan, she spent 3 years working as a litigation consultant at Analysis Group where she used her economics and psychology degrees to solve complex questions using big data analytics, economic theory and marketing research.
At MIT Sloan Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Marketing are the focus of her academic career. Nargis is interested in learning about the design of artificial intelligence based technological products that understand human irrationality. She is also hoping to launch a tech startup to help her country in the future.
Meera Krishna - VP of Logistics
Meera is a first year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, Meera worked as a Product Manager at ClearCost Health, a digital health start-up focused on improving health care price transparency. Meera is excited about the inevitable impact of AI on health and wellness industries.
Ana Maria Sanchez-Rusinak - VP of Content
Ana Maria is a first year MBA student at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, Ana Maria worked as a consumer insights consultant at the consumer collaboration agency C Space. Ana Maria advised Fortune 500 clients in a range of industries on how to apply the insights she uncovered to design better products and experiences, as well as branding and marketing strategies.
Excited about innovation and design thinking, Ana Maria is interested in pursuing a career in product design & development. She is motivated by technology’s ability to empower people and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Ana Maria hopes to one day build solutions that will create a tangible impact on the lives of people in her native Colombia.
Arturo Moreno - VP of Fundraising
Arturo is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan and holds a dual degree in Business Administration and Law from Universidad Carlos III Madrid. Before Sloan, he spent four years at Ferrovial’s executive advisory team for Strategy and M&A issues. Arturo is passionate about technology disruption in business models and how to generate sustainable and efficient adoption of innovation that answers social and environmental challenges. Moving forward, he is interested in pursuing a career in venture capital in the areas of FinTech, Blockchain and Transportation.
Nicholas Baladis - Director of Content
Nick is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. He has previously worked for Tesla Motors and Accenture and is looking to work with cutting edge technologies in the future. He is fascinated (and scared) of the impact magnitude AI is promising to bring in the next few decades. Thus, helping organize this Conference is an important step towards increasing societal awareness of how drastically our lives may change in the future.
