Industrial Robots will Learn through Trial and Error

Typical industrial robots may look sophisticated as they hum along in a factory, but "they don't have brains," Osara's co-founder Derik Pridmore reminds us in an interview with Techcrunch yesterday. Osara, a nine-person startup based in San Francisco, just raised $3.3 million as it looks to teach robots how to learn through trial and error. Instead of taking days, weeks, or even months for humans to manually train them, why not let the robot figure it out itself? And after that, let that robot teach robots around the world what it learns.
